Liverpool Transfer News – Young academy talent will leave for around £1 Million

As reported by The Athletic, 2006-born winger Elijah Gift is set to depart Liverpool’s academy this summer. Gift is expected to join Athletic Bilbao’s academy, with a deal reportedly in an advanced stage. According to The Athletic’s James Pearce, Liverpool did not want to lose Gift but the £1M offer was enough for the club to take the hit. Originally from Spain, Gift joined Liverpool in 2019 from Huddersfield Town’s academy. As some may know, Athletic Bilbao has a policy of signing players only from Basque County, where Gift was born.
