Manchester City are crowned champions of the 2022-2023 Premier League season
OFFICIAL: With a 0-1 defeat at City Ground to Nottingham Forest, Arsenal can no longer catch Manchester City in the title race. Arsenal sits 4 points behind City which just one match to go, mathematically crowning Manchester City as Premier League champions.
It is Manchester City’s 9th top-flight title and their 7th Premier League title. It is also their third consecutive Premier League title, having won the two previous seasons. It is manager Pep Guardiola’s 5th Premier League title with Manchester City. Despite Arsenal holding the top position in the table for a majority of the season, Manchester City have stormed back to defend their trophy ownership.

It also marks Man City’s first trophy this season but they still are eligible to complete a treble. City still plays Manchester United in a derby final for the FA Cup on June 3rd. More notably, the club has advanced to the Champions League finals for just the second time. City will face Italian giants Inter on June 10th in Istanbul.
Extraordinarily, The Cityzens have not lost in the Premier League since February 5th. Since then they have gone 14 Premier League matches in a row undefeated. To no one’s surprise, Erling Haaland led the way to City’s Premier League title. The Norwegian international has scored 36 goals to date, owning the Premier League record for goals scored in a single season. Kevin De Bruyne’s Premier League season will not go unnoticed either though. De Bruyne has registered 23 goal contributions this season and scored twice in a recent fixture versus Arsenal that turned the tides in the title race.
Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard confirmed they will give City a guard of honour when they face off on May 20th.
