Tottenham Hotspur’s quest for the perfect manager has been marked by the dismissal of three managers in the past four seasons. Their ongoing search now includes the addition of the next Ten Hag, Arne Slot, to the list of potential candidates

Tottenham Hotspur is one of the top Premier League clubs looking to fill the managerial spot vacant full-time. After not achieving success even after hiring serial winners like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, the North London outfit has turned its attention towards the Arne Slot.

Tottenham Hotspur mutually parted ways with Antonio Conte in March 2023 following their elimination from both the Champions League and FA Cup. Since then, the club has appointed two caretaker managers. In the meanwhile, they have shortlisted the likes of Ruben Amorim (Sporting CP), Luis Enrique, Ange Postecoglu (Celtic), Roberto de Zerbi (Brighton and Hove Albion) and Thomas Frank (Brentford).

Amidst the interest from the Premier League outfit, the Feyenoord manager has denied making any comments. He said:

"“I don’t want to comment on my future now. If my next step is in the Netherlands, so I completely failed in the next few years”"

Arne Slot: The next Ten Hag in the making

The Bergentheim-born manager, Arne Slot, has taken the Dutch top flight by storm with his tactics. The 44-year-old manager started his managerial career in 2017 as AZ Alkmaar’s assistant coach and was hired as the gaffer in 2019. He averaged 1.93 points per game in 58 games before Feyenoord hired him in 2021.

Apart from the usual suspects to win the Eredivisie, Ajax and PSV, Feyenoord has become a force to reckon with. Arne Slot has led the team from the front and they have already won the title with two games to go. This achievement holds great significance as it marks Feyenoord’s second title in the past two decades, highlighting the magnitude of his accomplishment.

Arne Slot loves to play tactical and attacking football. Before reaching the final third, his team has a lot of movement in the midfield and the wings while drawing the opposition out of their position. Additionally, Slot’s emphasis on physical fitness ensures that his team maintains a high-energy approach, particularly in the midfield.
