Arsenal transfer news – Nuno Tavares likely to be sold
Currently out on loan at Marseille, Nuno Tavares has been labelled as likely to leave Arsenal by The Times. Having been sent out on loan, the Portugal full-back was believed to frustrate Mikel Arteta in training due to his poor work rate and lack of determination to succeed – this was evident on the field as whenever he was given game time, nine times out of ten he wouldn’t be eager to win.
Arsenal transfer news – Arsenal could sign Mohamed Simakan
According to a transfer summary by Football Fancast, multiple indicators are pointing towards Arsenal signing Mohamed Simakan from RB Leipzig this summer. Mikel Arteta is a fan of the defender, with other reports suggesting it is near the top of Arteta’s plans to improve his defence going into next season.
The report likens Simakan to Nathan Ake for his sheer versatility in defence – Simakan primarily plays as a centre back although he’s been deployed on the right this season. This makes him the ideal Mikel Arteta player, since Ben White has performed a similar role this term.
Arsenal transfer news – Arteta open to Granit Xhaka offers
This one will shock the fans more than Tavares, but Arsenal are also considering life without Granit Xhaka. According to talkSPORT, Arsenal will listen to offers for Granit Xhaka this summer to fund moves for Declan Rice and/or Moises Caicedo.
Granit Xhaka has developed into a real fan favourite this season due to his love of the club and development under Mikel Arteta. Time will tell whether he continues his Emirates Stadium journey next season.
