In today’s Liverpool injury news ahead of their visit to Leicester City in the Premier League, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that two players will miss the trip to the King Power Stadium on Monday.

The high-flying Reds are looking to extend their winning run in the league to seven games as Europa League place appears all but confirmed following their ruthless streak lately.

Liverpool injury news – Firmino and Keita ruled out from the Leicester trip

At a pre-match press conference earlier today, Klopp confirmed that Roberto Firmino and Naby Keita will miss the trip to Leicester on Monday through injuries.

The Brazilian, who is set to leave the Anfield outfit this summer as a free agent after eight years at the club, has missed their last five games with a muscle issue.

Keita, who is also on his way out this summer upon the expiration of his contract, hasn’t featured for Liverpool since February.

Confirming that neither would play any part in next week’s game, Klopp said:

"“I saw Bobby in training yesterday and it looks like pretty much [he is] nearly there, but I don’t think he will be in for the weekend. If I go out of here and he will be in the session, I would be surprised. I assume that we start with him team training-wise after the Leicester game. And Naby, no.”"

Meanwhile, Leicester City are fighting to stay alive in the Premier League. With only 30 points from 35 games, the Foxes are in 18th position of the league table and running out of time to anchor their sinking ship.

Dean Smith took charge of the club on April 10 and has overseen just one win in five games. Leicester’s defense continues to leak goals at an alarming rate, including five against Fulham in a 5-3 defeat last time out.

With Liverpool firing on all cylinders right now, Leicester is staring down the barrel of a gun here, as relegation would be all but confirmed with another setback on Monday.
