Manchester City, who are in the thick of the Premier League title race, has made a crucial decision regarding Bernardo Silva

According to 90min’s Graeme Bailey, Manchester City has told Bernardo Silva he can leave in the summer transfer window without the club standing in his way. The only caveat to the agreement is that Manchester City will demand that their valuation of Bernardo Silva be met by bidding clubs. 90min further states that Manchester City would likely demand in the £75M range for Bernardo Silva given his contract still runs for another two seasons.

Silva was subject to much interest both in the previous January and summer transfer windows. All speculation lead to Barcelona being the team that desired Silva the most. It is likely should Bernardo Silva leave this summer, Barcelona will come calling again but it is hard to believe that the Catalan club would be able to meet such a high valuation. PSG are also reportedly interested in the services of Bernardo Silva.

With Ilkay Gundogan also looking likely to leave Manchester City this summer, it will be interesting to see who City identifies as a replacement.

Bernardo Silva has been at Manchester City since his 2017 move from AS Monaco. Silva was part of the famous Monaco side that made it all the way to the Champions League semi-finals. Funny enough for Silva, Monaco had beaten Manchester City in the Round of 16 that year.

Silva has started a majority of the matches this season for Manchester City. Any move away from the club would come as a means of wanting a new challenge, rather than because of playtime. Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are known to not stand in the way of players wanting to leave. In recent memory, the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Leroy Sane and Ferran Torres were all allowed to leave when wanting a change of scenery.

Should Bernardo Silva leave Manchester City? If so, where should he go next?
