Ahead of the huge top four clash between the two competing teams, here’s the Manchester United predicted lineup I would expect Erik ten Hag to field against Spurs to maximise his chances.

Manchester United predicted lineup vs Spurs

Starting with the most obvious choice, David de Gea will be selected between the sticks. Having kept a clean sheet in his last three Premier League games, he’ll be expecting to be much busier today.

Then, I would expect an unchanged centre back pairing for Manchester United. The centre back pairing of Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof worked well in the recent FA Cup semi-final against Brighton, essentially exposing Maguire as the weak link.

At right back, I expect Aaron Wan-Bissaka to start again. On the left side of defence will be Diogo Dalot, greatly helped by the requirement of Shaw at centre-back.

In the midfield is where things start to get tricky for Erik ten Hag. In today’s Manchester United injury news, we revealed that Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes were unlikely to start the match. Therefore, as the attacking midfielder you’d expect Marcel Sabitzer to get the nod.

The two holding midfielders will be Christian Eriksen and Casemiro. This midfield pairing tends to work quite well and will adequately cover the missing link in Bruno being missing.

Then, it’ll be a front three for Manchester United. Luckily for Erik ten Hag, his attackers are very versatile and fluid so they can interchange as they please. I expect the front three of choice to be Antony, who has been picking up form of late, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.

This team has what it takes to beat Spurs. However, with United having won the last four matches against them, you’d expect the law of averages being in favour of Spurs breaking their recent hoodoo.
