For the last four consecutive seasons, Newcastle United finished in the bottom half of the Premier League. However, the team this season has done well and is in the 4th position and on its way to securing a place in the UEFA Champions League. How did this happen? Well, for starters, the club’s takeover by Saudi’s Public Investment Fund helped the team in more ways than one.

It gave Newcastle the power to spend and sign players who have done well for them. In the last three transfer windows, the club has spent a staggering £250 million under their new owners. Another reason behind the success of The Magpies has been manager Eddie Howe. The British manager’s tactics and man management have been heavily credited for Newcastle’s success.

After all, Howe is leading a team that once finished in the bottom half to what can be a top-four finish. However, the club does not want to settle at that. Next season, Newcastle aspires to challenge for the Premier League crown. And to do so, the Magpies are willing to sign four world-class players to bolster their current squad.

As per reports, Howe does not only want to add depth to the squad for Europe, but he wants to sign elite players who can challenge for the first team. Reports suggest that Newcastle United is keen on signing four players. Declan Rice, who is pursued by the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, James Maddison, Ivan Toney, and Conor Gallagher are names Newcastle wishes to acquire.

While the transfer window is still far away, Newcastle’s Wishlist of players indicates their ambitions. Supported by strong finances from their owners based in Saudi along with a visionary coach, it will be interesting to observe what The Magpies achieve in the next transfer window.
