Arsenal have had a busy few weeks pondering their transfer strategy for the upcoming summer transfer window. Mikel Arteta would have given his recruitment team a list of weak points in the squad, which seem excessively large given the 4 points they’ve dropped from a possible 6 over the last couple of games. But there’s one player who seems to pop up year after year and this time round is no different.

According to Foot Mercato, Arsenal are growing more and more serious about signing Wilfried Zaha. His contract running out at the end of this season has made him an interest to many clubs across Europe, with Arsenal being one of them. The French outlet claims that seeing Arsenal make a serious offer to the player is deemed more and more likely as the weeks progress. Interesting.

Wilfried Zaha is certainly a great player and one that has been tipped to make the move away from Crystal Palace for many seasons now. It’s always been thought that he is capable of better than Palace but he’s remained loyal to the club despite some top-level clubs showing interest in signing him.

Zaha has a good record against Arsenal, meaning many fans are familiar with him for all the wrong reasons. He’s scored two goals and provided five assists in this particular London derby during his time in the Premier League. Furthermore, the Gunners only have a 50% win record against Palace with Zaha in the team.

Arsenal have a plethora of great attacking options, as demonstrated at the weekend when they brought Reiss Nelson, Leandro Trossard and Eddie Nketiah on from the bench to replace an already world-class attacking front three. However, Arteta isn’t one to rest on his laurels so it’s no surprise to see him hungry for greater attacking options.

Do you think Arsenal will sign Wilfried Zaha?
