Things aren’t going to plan for Arsenal right now. They would have ideally liked to pick up the maximum number of points in the Premier League run-in but in the last two games they’ve dropped four points, in both games they were leading by 2-0.

Many would put it down to the inexperience of the squad but that’s no excuse. There are players in that team that have experience of winning the Premier League so they should be keeping a cool head and giving advice to the younger players.

One man who certainly won’t be happy with Arsenal’s recent bottlings is Mikel Arteta. He saw it happen last season although not to the same extent as his side bottled Champions League qualification. With that being said, Arteta has a plan to rebuild in the summer.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal are eyeing a move for the exceptional Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, with the intel that Juve might be forced into selling players this summer. However, the report also claims that Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is viewed as the backup option, the latter having Premier League experience with Arteta certainly a big fan.

Fans have said for the longest time that they trust the process. Although the recent form from the Gunners might not be promising, finishing second which is just as much a possibility as finishing first, is incredible progress. If you would have told an Arsenal fan their team would finish in the top two this season, they’d have gnawed your hand off.

Bringing in another great striker, to partner the world-class Gabriel Jesus, is another stepping stone in the Mikel Arteta process. Although, fans will still be right to retort that signing a midfielder should be the number one option, especially after watching how well Declan Rice played against them.
