When recent news emerged that Liverpool had pulled out of the race to sign Jude Bellingham, all Arsenal fans thought the same thing – Not again.

See, Arsenal have made it very clear they would like to sign Declan Rice in the summer, and their fans are in full support of this decision. When you pursue Jude Bellingham but then soon pull out of that rice, the next logical option is to pursue Declan Rice.

Rice is the next best thing. Having already proven himself in the Premier League, you could even say he’d be the safer option of the two. With West Ham one of the clubs potentially facing relegation this season, Rice will surely be on his way out for a cu-price deal.

Arsenal realised this a long time ago, which is why Rice is the main transfer priority at Arsenal. The Gunners need to sign another midfielder as the missing piece to their squad. Although they have played some fantastic football this season, in the rare times they haven’t, their lack of depth in the midfielder has shone through.

So, that makes two clubs now looking for a midfielder. Much to the Gunners’ annoyance, Liverpool have now shortlisted not one, but TWO of Arsenal’s transfer targets.

According to Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool’s shortlist of midfielders now includes Declan Rice, Moises Caicedo, Matheus Nunes and Nicolo Barella.

What does this mean for the Gunners, though? Well, nothing. They’ll still pursue Declan Rice as they have a much higher chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season, and potentially even winning the Premier League title. Let’s face it, at this point in time, Rice should much prefer to sign for Mikel Arteta at Arsenal than Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Where do you think Declan Rice will be playing next season?
