Ahead of their clash against West Ham United on Sunday, Arsenal fans will eagerly anticipate any lineup news that they can get. Fortunately for the Gunners, they’ve been on the receiving end of some good news.

According to the Mirror, cult hero of this season Eddie Nketiah will be back in action before they know it, as he was pictured in training today. This is a timely return to action as the fixtures become more and more important, so it gives Mikel Arteta another option, potentially even from the bench in some matches, to change the dynamic.

The jury is still out on Nketiah, despite his emphatic goal return and involvement throughout Gabriel Jesus’ lengthy injury. Now that Jesus is back and in good goal scoring form, scoring 3 in his last 2 games, it’s unlikely Nketiah will get a start between now and the end of the season.

However, in this title race which is bound be a tight one, any player returning from injury is good news. The ideal situation will be that both Nketiah and William Saliba, who is also on the verge of returning, will be available for selection on Sunday.

The good news for Arsenal is that they are in the driving seat of this title race, despite City’s game in hand. If the Gunners win every match between now and the end of the season, they will lift the title. Even if they draw to City but still win all their other games, the title is theirs. It’s a big ask, but given all Arteta has achieved this season, he’ll see this as an achievable task.

Do you think Eddie Nketiah will start for Arsenal between now and the end of the season, or will Arteta stick with Gabriel Jesus?
