How Luis Enrique has already proven his desire to succeed at Chelsea

Luis Enrique is a manager who loves to find flaws and implement strategies to fix them. He’s not lazy, he takes accountability when he messes up, but he also reminds players when they mess up. Since Chelsea have the largest squad known to man, many players not even knowing each other, it could be the former Spain manager who comes in to right any wrongs.

The Top Flight reported earlier that Luis Enrique was in London today to discuss the role with Chelsea, but the true extent of his desire to manage there has been revealed. According to The Independent, Enrique impressed Chelsea with his impressive articulation of the current problems at Chelsea and his contingency plan to fix those issues going forward.

Furthermore, Enrique has shown impressive desire to improve on the one thing that would let him down. According to the same report, Enrique is keen to narrow the language barrier and is already taking significant steps to improving his English abilities.

There’s no denying that Enrique would be the best option for Chelsea. His desire to come in and succeed, continuing the success he held at Barcelona, is impressive enough for fans to get on board. It’s been a while since Chelsea had a winner at the helm and in fact, they’re still trying to replace Jose Mourinho as someone who can instil that mentality.

It’s important to remember that Enrique is one of many options. Unfortunately, it’s not just a case of who will come in and win the most trophies. The board must decipher who’s the best financially, practically and tactically.

As a neutral, I would love to see Enrique come to the Premier League. He’d join a plethora of some of the best managers in the world, coaching the best players in the world and fighting to win the best league in the world.
