Jurgen Klopp issues a major ultimatum to Liverpool ahead of Arsenal clash

It’s not been a great season for Liverpool, which was personified in their recent boring 0-0 tie with Chelsea. Both sides looked tired and unmotivated to grab any points, both sharing a point in the end. In recent seasons, you’d say this is a fair result, especially at Stamford Bridge, however Chelsea are without a manager and 11th in the table, the Reds should really be doing better.
But it’s not just Chelsea who risk being without a manager. Jurgen Klopp has made an astonishing claim, one which we never thought possible a few seasons ago. According to Football London, the German boss has said that if Liverpool have another troublesome season like this one, he’ll leave the club.
In many ways, Klopp is to thank for Liverpool’s resurfacing as title contenders in recent seasons. Since he joined from Borussia Dortmund, he’s got the Reds playing an attractive style of football, while developing players expertly to become absolute world-beaters.
They say a captain never leaves their sinking ship but in this instance, you can understand Klopp’s reasoning. Liverpool do appear to be on a downwards trajectory, unfortunately due to one man’s departure – Sadio Mane. Mane was always Anfield’s finest asset, however, because Salah received all the accolades (and rightly so), this left Mane under-appreciated and overlooked.
By their nature, Liverpool are a selling club. This is because they are self-sufficient financially. This certainly has its pros, but a con does mean that great players don’t stay at the club forever. With Mane already left, Firmino is next and it wouldn’t surprise me if Salah follows suit. This leaves Klopp without the core he’s used to build his Anfield success, therefore, he has no alternative but to leave.
Do you think Jurgen Klopp will stay at Liverpool or will he leave after next season?
