Liverpool injury news vs Manchester City: Klopp has SEVEN doubtful stars
By Kian Long
As Liverpool prepare to face Manchester City away from home on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp will be fired up more than ever for this fixture. Having not had his way most of the way through this season, he’ll eye the two games-in-hand over Spurs as a potential route to the top four, which is ultimately the Reds’ goal at this stage of the season.
Facing Manchester City is never easy, this is something that Klopp has learned all too well in recent history. The two sides have formed a fierce rivalry in recent seasons, but this time around, it could be Liverpool who help out underdogs Arsenal to retain their current 8 point gap at the top of the table – perhaps even extending it to 11 points if they beat Leeds United.
Liverpool injury news – Jurgen Klopp could be without seven players against rivals Manchester City
However, things aren’t looking good for Liverpool. According to FotMob, they have seven players who are doubtful for this match, with 3 of them essentially ruled out already. The injury list for Liverpool is as follows:
- Thiago Alcantara (Ruled out)
- Stefan Bajcetic (Ruled out)
- Luis Diaz (Doubtful)
- Konstantinos Tsimikas (Doubtful)
- Jordan Henderson (Doubtful)
- Darwin Nunez (Doubtful)
- Calvin Ramsey (Ruled out)
I guess, the only good news for Jurgen Klopp is that Manchester City may be without a first choice striker. Phil Foden is ruled out and Erling Haaland is still doubtful, given the injury which prevented him playing in the international break.
This game certainly grabs the attention for being the game of this weekend. Being the early kickoff on Saturday means all eyes will be on this fixture, with Liverpool proving they have firepower against the big teams but Manchester City boasting the best goal scoring record this season. Game on.
