Former Chelsea boss is a “possibility” to replace Antonio Conte at Spurs
By Kian Long
Things aren’t going to plan for some clubs in London. West Ham, Crystal Palace and Chelsea are all in the mud – Spurs are trying everything they can to avoid falling down that turmoil. Unfortunately for Antonio Conte, the club’s effort to avoid downfall will likely include sacking him and finding a replacement over the coming days.
While Tottenham Hotspur aren’t in the worst form, the culture in the dressing room comes across as toxic and must be fixed before it spirals. Antonio Conte has hit out at staff and players to the media, following the club’s disappointing draw at the weekend. Actions like this don’t go without punishment.
There are a multitude of options for Spurs. It’s thought that former interim coach Ryan Mason could fill in to do the same job, given there are just 10 Premier League matches remaining. Others point towards Mauricio Pochettino, but Spurs must act fast to avoid losing him to Real Madrid.
According to James Olley (via ESPN on YouTube), Thomas Tuchel has emerged as a real “possibility” to replace Antonio Conte at Spurs. The journalist recalls that Tuchel had mentioned being a Tottenham fan growing up and his love for the Premier League.
Things didn’t quite go to plan with Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea. However, some fans (myself as a neutral included) feel like he wasn’t given enough time and sacked prematurely. He’s a world-class manager with an appetite to win and get the best out of his players. He has Champions League experience and would be an excellent addition should any Premier League give him time.
What’s good to know for Spurs fans is that their options are growing. Whether your team Poch or team Tuchel, nobody can deny that they’d both be exceptional recruitments.
