It’s fair to say that Arsenal and Brighton don’t have the best relationship right now. After the Gunners exploited a vulnerable position and signed Leandro Trossard for cheap, the Seagulls didn’t want to entertain any possible deal for Moises Caicedo, despite the midfielder wanting to leave the South Coast.

According to the latest report from TEAMtalk, Alexis Mac Allister wants to leave the Amex Stadium in the summer, with Arsenal among the clubs interested in signing him. The Argentine midfielder has returned an impressive 7 league goals and an assist so far this season.

The only complication is that Mac Allister only signed a new deal this season, annoyingly for him just before he caught the eyes of the world by lifting the World Cup. According to Transfermarkt, Mac Allister’s valuation quadrupled after he played in and lifted the World Cup.

Indeed, he was a key component to the team which lifted football’s most prestigious trophy. Playing alongside Lionel Messi and other world-class company, Mac Allister proved how pivotal he was playing most of the minutes and having some exceptional goal involvements, including in the final against France.

Lifting the World Cup made Brighton fans proud, but it only made the midfielder aspire for bigger and better things. As is the case for any footballer, Mac Allister wants to grow in success and stature – something which, unfortunately, can only be achieved with a move away.

Whether or not Brighton entertain any possible deal with Arsenal remains to be seen. Of course, Edu will come knocking again but before Brighton open the door, they need to unlock the gate for any party, let alone Arsenal.

You can understand it, though, Why would Brighton want to sell their most prized asset, so soon after he signed a new deal? Alexis Mac Allister ties in perfectly with their aims to play in European competition.

Do you think Arsenal can push to sign Alexis Mac Allister and will they be sucessful?
