Arsenal injury news: Gabriel Jesus makes MASSIVE step in recovery
By Kian Long
Arsenal fans are greeted to good news after good news. I’ve only just stopped watching the highlights from yesterday’s game for long enough to catch up on the Arsenal injury news. Leandro Trossard went down injured and had to be subbed off in the match which wasn’t great to see – however, Gabriel Jesus is returning at an astronomically fast rate.
Arsenal injury news – Gabriel Jesus returns to extensive post-match training
According to a report from Goal, Gabriel Jesus was involved in Arsenal’s team cooldown after the match yesterday. The cooldown is thought to be a strenuous exercise involving a small training match but Jesus made it through the whole session, showing he essentially has restored all mobility in his knee.
The Gunners’ next match is in the Europa League, where they face Sporting CP. Goal cannot confirm for sure whether or not Gabi will be involved but the fact he’s even in the conversation shows how close he is to returning.
Arsenal have done a sufficient job of replacing him in the starting XI, but his return to football will be welcomed with open arms. It’s likely Mikel Arteta will ease him back into starting, however, there’s certainly a place for him in the centre forward position.
Before his injury at the World Cup, Jesus went through a dry scoring patch. However, what he provides to Arsenal goes far beyond goals. His workrate and tenacity to win back possession, while bringing his teammates into play is unmatched. Jesus will be eager to lead the line once more to secure his second Premier League trophy in consecutive seasons.
The Top Flight will provide updates on Leandro Trossard’s injury as and when they come. Mikel Arteta has confirmed it is a worry, but the club is investigating and will assess his return accordingly.
Do you think Gabriel Jesus will return to Arsenal with a goal?
