The latest to enter the Chelsea managerial merry-go-round is Roberto de Zerbi. The Top Flight reported yesterday that he was the most likely option, since the board favour him over other options. However, news has emerged which may counteract that.

According to Sport, former Spain and Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is weighing up his options. In terms of being a manager, he is unemployed and seeking his next venture, one which he wants to be both challenging and rewarding.

Luis Enrique didn’t have the best of times as head coach of the Spain national team. However, it’s not a great generation of Spanish talent. He did the best he could with what was available to him and his prestige as a world-class manager is still very much intact.

Football Fancast has dubbed Enrique as a better option than Roberto de Zerbi. While De Zerbi has done an incredible job at Brighton and Hove Albion, it takes a real legendary manager to even come close to Enrique.

It’s thought that the next two games will be crucial for Graham Potter if he wants to keep his job. Managers are already lining up to replace him, since they see the wealth of world-class players at Stamford Bridge as the perfect opportunity to progress their portfolio.

Chelsea currently sit 10th in the Premier League. The club is completely toxic at the moment and it doesn’t look to be changing unless the personnel changes. It’s difficult for Potter because the problem is structural, but oftentimes, the manager is the first to get the boot.

There’ll be more news surrounding the manager opening at Chelsea. As it comes, The Top Flight will work hard to bring you ground breaking news, with cut-throat analysis from the point of view of Premier League fans.
