Erik ten Hag has made it clear exactly who he wants to sign in the summer. The Manchester United boss has prioritised on his shortlist a striker and a midfielder.

According to Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag has made a statement of intent he wants to sign Victor Osimhen, the in-form Napoli striker who seems to be scoring goals for fun this season. The second player Ten Hag would like to sign is Ajax attacking midfielder, Mohammed Kudus.

Don’t get it twisted – Erik ten Hag isn’t putting two eggs into two baskets only. But these are the players who he values the most. Also on the shortlist of potential summer signings is Jude Bellingham, Frenkie de Jong, Harry Kane and Goncalo Ramos.

Therefore, there are plenty of options for Erik ten Hag, who isn’t messing around. Already winning his first trophy of the season, he’s keen to add to Manchester United’s growing success in the coming season, with strengthening the squad high on his to-do list.

Interestingly, the report also lists three players who are already on United’s sell-list. According to the report from MEN, Erik ten Hag wants to sell Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial and Alex Telles. This is no surprise, given these three players appear to only be at the club for decoration since they don’t play much.

Manchester United are on track for a top-four finish. Having already won the Carabao Cup recently, the FA Cup and Europa League are still on too. I should also mention the Premier League, where they stand a chance if they win their game in hand.

That being said, the board has all the more reason to trust Erik ten Hag. If he names players he wants to sign and provides proof they’ll benefit from his plans which have worked so far, then he’ll be given the funding to carry out those deals.
