Chelsea reveal the front-runner to replace Graham Potter, he wants the job

New month, new manager for Chelsea? That seems to be the general consensus. Graham Potter is on his final two lifelines, with the next couple of matches being crucial to whether he stays or goes. Given his track record in London, there aren’t many fans holding hope he can turn it around.
The Top Flight predicted the three most likely managers who would replace Graham Potter at Chelsea. However, the latest report from Football Insider reveals it’s none of them.
Football Insider claims that Chelsea have a genuine interest in Roberto de Zerbi. The Brighton manager, who originally replaced Potter at Brighton, is keen to fulfil the same job for Chelsea. The Blues are keen admirers of the instant success De Zerbi has brought in his Premier League stint and are drawn to him for his work with young players.
You might scoff while hearing this, but managing Chelsea will be a MUCH bigger task than it was initially to take over at Brighton. He won’t inherit the same Graham Potter side, since it’s Todd Boehly who calls the shots at Stamford Bridge. Even Potter himself said he feels ‘undermined’ by the power dynamic currently.
The Blues’ squad size is astronomically large. They, or should I say Boehly, signed players for the sake of it over the last two transfer windows. It seemed no real thought process was behind it, just smash and grab in the transfer market. And now, they’re paying the price, since there’s a lack of squad harmony.
Having a fresh face at the helm could be exactly what this group of players, to give them a kick up the backside. At the moment, they’re playing like a team of individuals rather than a collective, hence why they are 10th in the table and as close to the relegation zone as they are the top four.
Do you think Roberto de Zerbi would be a good appointment for Chelsea?
