Arsenal recently beat Leicester City in the Premier League to retain their place at the top of the table. They are two points clear of Manchester City but they have a game in hand on the Citizens. As we look ahead to the final countdown of the season, this post will predict the points in the league leader’s next 5 fixtures.

Arsenal vs Everton (Wed 1 March) – Realistically this should be an easy match for Mikel Arteta, but when you consider what happened in the reverse fixture just recently, you can understand the pessimism. Still, the Gunners are eager to prove a point at home and given their turnaround in form since this match, I’d expect nothing less than 3 points here.

Arsenal vs Bournemouth (Sat 4 March) – Should be easy pickings for the Gunners here. It’s top of the table vs second from bottom. I’m going to predict a full 3 points for the league leaders, anything less would be a severe blow.

Fulham vs Arsenal (Sun 12 March) – This is a difficult one.  Between the Bournemouth game and this, Arsenal have a Europa League game in midweek. While they’ll play a weakened team in the Europa League, Fulham will hope to pounce on their London rivals having just 3 days to recover. Fulham are in good form and have the home advantage, so I expect 1 point to be shared.

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace (Sun 19 March) – Again, they have just 3 days recover from the Europa League. But Crystal Palace are easier pickings the Fulham were. At the time of writing this, they’re without a win in their last five games, therefore Mikel Arteta should be pretty confident of 3 points.

Arsenal vs Leeds (Sat 1 April) – Leeds always prove a threat when they’re up for winning, but this game will mean more to the Gunners. Depending on how the new manager fairs for Leeds, it could be difficult but I’d expect the home side to come away with 3 points.

Possible points: 15

Predicted points: 13
