The Manchester United youngster has issued a plea to Erik ten Hag for game time…
According to The Mirror, Brandon Williams has sent a direct message to Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag about his gametime. The youngster has played just 4 minutes of competitive football this season, those 4 minutes coming in a pointless League Cup match.
He’s not been granted the best of luck on an injury front, as an injury saw him ruled out of the first half of this season. Despite the injury, Williams still had a difficult time breaking into the starting eleven, since his position is full of talent with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia firing on all cylinders this season.
Brandon Williams has always said that when he’s given the opportunity to play, he’ll take it well. This is all well and good but he’s not been given the opportunity, through no fault of Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United are trying their best to pursue a late push for a Premier League title race, have a cup final coming up and still in the Europa League. Therefore, something about Ten Hag’s team selections is working. It might seem harsh say, but it isn’t FIFA career mode, the manager can’t just grant wishes like this from players who aren’t embedded in the mentality and committed to achieving the aspirational goals this season.
Williams is aspirational, and wants to be given game time to prove it. In an interview with Astro SuperSport, the 22-year-old had this to say:
"“For me, obviously I had an injury that set me back but I’ve been back now for the last couple of months,I’m pushing hard to get some game time, I’m waiting for my chance and I’m sure that I’ll take it.” – Brandon Williams (quoted by the Mirror)"
Do you think Brandon Williams will be given game time at Manchester United between now and the end of the season?
