Kieran Tierney could complete his next adventure, from Arsenal to Newcastle United?

According to a report from Football Insider, Newcastle United are closely monitoring the situation of Kieran Tierney, who has fallen out-of-favour at the Emirates Stadium this season. The report claims that the Scotland international is valued at around £30m, which is a £5m profit from when Arsenal signed him in 2019.

The Top Flight reported earlier that Newcastle were interested in signing Antonee Robinson, so they could see Tierney as a backup in case this transfer falls though. Either way, Newcastle will be gaining a true quality defender.

At Arsenal this season, Kieran Tierney is getting game time but not as much as he would like. He has become the new second-choice for Mikel Arteta, who would rather give game time to Oleksandr Zinchenko following his massive impression on the Arsenal first-team.

Tierney is an out-and-out full-back. He is solid in 1v1 situations but has the speed and awareness to venture into the final third. He is known for being the creative outlet in Arsenal’s back-four whenever he plays, which will benefit Newcastle as they tend to play with high-pressing creative full-backs.

We know that the Magpies have the money. Since their lucrative takeover, confidence has been high as Newcastle are exceeding expectations in the Premier League, currently 5th in the league but have a game in hand over Tottenham. A Champions League spot for them would encourage Tierney to join.

Out of all the players in the Arsenal squad, you’d have to say it’ll be Tierney who’s sold in the summer. He’s a great player and will be a big miss but unfortunately the role which Arteta expects him to play which is rotational, is just not good enough for a player like him. In my opinion, this transfer has a good chance of going ahead.

Do you think Newcastle will sign Kieran Tierney?
