Liverpool are looking good. After a poor start to the season, Jurgen Klopp has started to get his men playing the way they should be. Another win yesterday against Newcastle, who have proven very difficult to beat this season, and fans are ecstatic again. Every player performed their role well, but none more so than Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Trent has suffered a dip in form this season, that’s fair to say. As someone who was once dubbed the best right-back in the world, he’s definitely struggled to play at that level so far this season. However, if recent performances are to be believed and continued, then world-class Trent is back.

Trent Alexander-Arnold had Liverpool fans bouncing when he played a delightful pass to Darwin Nunez to open the scoring early on. Other than that, he had a very solid defensive display and kept a clean sheet – his defending being the main criticism of his this season.

The Englishman being back in good form will come as music to Gareth Southgate’s ears, who reduced his usual game time at the World Cup last year due to his subpar performances.

The factors of his form could come down to many different factors but in all honesty, it wasn’t just Trent who didn’t play well during this time. Liverpool didn’t have a good start to the season, hence they now face a battle to finish in the top four (which I think is achievable). They are usually battling for the title but that’s off the cards this time round.
