Manchester City have planned a further annoyance to Arsenal after beating them in the league…

According to the latest news from 90min, Manchester City have revamped their interest in West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice. Rice is also the main transfer target in summer for Arsenal, according to The Top Flight.

After beating Arsenal in the Premier League during midweek, it looks likely that City can go all the way to win the league now. Despite Arsenal’s game in hand, many are claiming it to be in City’s hands now due to the upcoming fixture between the two sides at the Etihad Stadium.

If Manchester City do win the Premier League this season, it would certainly be a preferred destination for any player. However, Rice loves London and he has expressed an interest in signing for Arsenal before, asking people associated with the club what it’s like.

Manchester City clearly have the funds to meet West Ham’s asking price, which is probably going to be around the £100m mark. However, we all know about the looming court case against City, so at this point in time it might not be wise to make a statement transfer like this.

There’s potential for a heavy punishment for City. Pep has outwardly expressed he will leave the club if they are found to be guilty. It wouldn’t surprise me if their main players left the club if this materialised, since Pep is a large pull factor.

As for Arsenal, this won’t deter them from trying to sign Declan Rice. He’s still going to be their priority transfer target. Although Jorginho stepped up and played well in the defeat against City, he’s still only a short-term option. Declan Rice is seen as the more admirable longer-term option.

Do you think Manchester City will sign Declan Rice?
