Arsenal fans are happy to see Leandro Trossard will make his full Premier League debut against Aston Villa…
Arsenal come up against Aston Villa in the Premier League within the next hour. The lineups have just been released, and Mikel Arteta has finally given into fans’ calls to start Leandro Trossard. To do this, Gabriel Martinelli has been benched from the last match against Manchester City.
Trossard has impressed in his multiple Premier League cameos. He often replaces Martinelli in the second half, but now he’ll hope to impress from the offset to get a full game under his belt against Aston Villa.
Having already scored his first goal for Arsenal against Brentford, he’s definitely earned this start. Martinelli, on the other hand, has been in poor form of late, which could be because of a lack of fitness. This is why I feel like Arteta has made this change, for fitness reasons as the Gunners have had to play 3 fixtures in the space of a week.
In other lineup news, Thomas Partey has again been ruled out through injury, but he should be back for the next match if signs are to be believed. Jorginho takes his place in the starting lineup again, after the Italian impressed in the last match against Manchester City.
Ben White returns to the starting eleven after Takehiro Tomiyasu took his place in the last Premier League match. Despite Tomiyasu’s mistake which resulted in the first City goal, Arteta has defended the full-back who is otherwise very consistent and solid at the back.
So, all in all, there are 2 changes to the starting lineup who played against City. Trossard starts in attack and Ben White returns to left-back.
What do we think of the starting lineup to face Aston Villa, Gunners?
