Jude Bellingham will likely be the most-watched player this summer as the player looks set to leave Borussia Dortmund

According to The Telegraph’s Matt Law, Chelsea is looking to make Jude Bellingham their top target this summer as the club looks ready to continue its spending spree. Additionally, Law reports that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is prepared to “move heaven and earth” to bring Bellingham to Stamford Bridge.

Boehly has been very active in negotiations for players since his arrival at Chelsea even after the overhaul of their recruitment department. It’s expected that Boehly will also be leading the charge to bring in Jude Bellingham from Dortmund.

Many would be forgiven if they thought Chelsea signing Enzo Fernandez for the British-record fee of £106.8M would stop the club from pursuing the young Englishmen. After losing midfielder Jorginho to London rivals Arsenal and N’Golo Kante’s future uncertain, Chelsea bringing in someone new for the middle of the park makes sense. The club was linked to Brighton’s Moises Caicedo in the January transfer window but that trail died out.

The hype around Jude Bellingham has continued to rise and he is regarded by many as one of the best young players in the world. Last year he finished 4th in voting for the Kopa Trophy awarded by France Football for the best player under 21 in the world. In 2021, he finished 3rd in voting.

Bellingham grew up in Birmingham having joined Birmingham City’s academy at a young age and making his way up the ranks at the club. Bellingham played just a single season for Birmingham City before making his transfer to Borussia Dortmund in 2020. He became the most expensive 17-year-old ever in football. Birmingham City shockingly retired his number 22 despite playing just a single season for the club.

Now a regular for England and a star player in the Bundesliga, Bellingham has been linked to the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City in addition to Chelsea. He is absolutely in demand and will command a massive fee that could rival or break Jack Grealish’s record fee for an English player.
