Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is scarily close to joining Paris…

Things aren’t looking good for Manchester City right now. Although their attention will be elsewhere due to their game about to kick off against Aston Villa, we have all heard about their looming legal case.

If the breaches are proven to be true and Manchester City are given a punishment, this could have immediate repercussions. We know that Pep Guardiola is a very proud manager, so he will not want to associate himself with claims like that. This is why it’s no surprise to see he is on the verge of leaving if rumours are true.

According to a report from El Nacional, Paris Saint-Germain is eager to secure Pep Guardiola as their next manager. The Catalan outlet claims that this is deemed as the “most important signing in the history of PSG” – even more important than signing Lionel Messi from Barcelona.

Of course, on the subject of Messi, it would be a great reunion between him and his former boss Pep. The two are proven to have a great record together from Pep’s time in charge of Barcelona, where he won 3 league titles and 2 Champions League trophies.

Pep has managed in three of the best leagues in the world – LaLiga, Bundesliga and the Premier League. In all three leagues he dominated, so it’s no surprise to see PSG who lead Ligue 1 currently, desperate to get him on board.

PSG, while top of the league, have looked shaky at times this season. Usually by this point they’d have the league all but wrapped up, however, they are currently just 5 points clear at the top. This is a good lead given the quality which is cropping up in the French top flight, but under Pep they are capable of so much more.

Pep brings a level of beautiful football with him no matter where he goes. Known for completely revolutionising the game through his unpredictable tactics, he could give PSG what they need to finally kick on and in the Champions League.

Do you think Pep Guardiola will be a hit or miss at PSG?
