Arsenal have their eyes on the generational talent who has been dubbed to be “the next Messi”…

Arsenal are already planning ahead for the summer transfer window, where Mikel Arteta hopes to build on an already promising project. With all hope, Arteta will receive greater backing from the board as he would have lifted the Premier League trophy by then.

The January transfer window saw Arsenal sign three players – Leandro Trossard, Jakub Kiwior and Jorginho. Trossard is a great rotational signing, Kiwior’s one for the future and the jury’s still out on Jorginho. Long story short – the current Arsenal recruitment team CAN be trusted to bring in great players.

According to Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel, Ansu Fati is set to join the Premier League. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all held talks with his agent.

Ansu Fati is an exceptional talent, ageing at just 20 years old. He would like to make the move for a new challenge, since this season he has only been granted 7 league starts for Barcelona (13 times he has come from the bench). Despite the underwhelming game time, the winger has produced a good return of 3 goals and 3 assists.

The thing which attracts Mikel Arteta the most is the 20-year-old’s versatility. While his primary position seems to be a left-winger, Ansu can play as a centre-forward and right-winger too.

Ansu is an exceptional finisher of the ball and he has what it takes to turn a game on its head in a positive way. For example, 2 of his goals and 2 assists have come from the bench this season.

So, all in all, it’s clear to see why Arteta is a big fan. As the news progresses, I’m certain more and more clubs will be eager to join the race to sign Ansu. However, Arsenal must be efficient in the window and secure him early on, as we have seen how the Gunners can be put-off by rising transfer fees.
