Sean Dyche has been given a final push in his bid to survive relegation at Everton…

As if he didn’t have enough inspiration, Sean Dyche has just been given all the more reason to save Everton from relegation this season. According to a report from the Daily Mail, Everton have offered a £3.5m incentive bonus to Dyche if he keeps them from being relegated.

Currently, Everton sits 18th in the league table, however, are only in the drop-off zone because of goal difference. They strengthened their position after they pulled off a shock defeat to league-leaders Arsenal at the weekend.

Dyche comes across as a very down-to-earth man. He is clearly in football because of his love of the sport, not his love of the business. However, £3.5m is an exceptional amount of money and one that he will strive for with all his heart.

Dyche is an expert at turning things round at the depth. Some managers are just made to deal with this kind of pressure and come through – he is one of them.

In their recent win against Arsenal, Everton reverted back to the basics but they won very convincingly. I’m saying this as an Arsenal fan too – Everton under Dyche are by far the best team we have faced this season.

The players just looked up for it. Whenever there were loose balls, the midfielders would fight hard to win them. A set-piece goal gave them the lead but they kept it though  pure grit and determination, not giving any Arsenal attackers breathing room. Given the pressure surrounding the club at the moment with board protests, Dyche felt like a breath of fresh air and put the spark back into the Goodison Park crowd.

Personally, I think Sean Dyche has Premier League survival on lock. However, this incentive from the board shows trust and willingness to keep the club afloat. The board is not popular amongst the Everton fan-base and understandably so, but I’m sure they will appreciate this effort.
