Arsenal may ditch £90m transfer target for Albert Sambi Lokonga hopes

Arsenal have provided the latest in regards to their pursuit of Moises Caicedo…
According to the latest report from GiveMeSport, Arsenal may consider re-attempting to sign Moises Caicedo in the summer. However, if Albert Sambi Lokonga impresses on loan at Crystal Palace, they see it as a better option to re-introduce Lokonga to the first team.
Of course, this doesn’t provide a definitive update. However, the report does show where Mikel Arteta and his team are right now. They have no need to put all their eggs in one basket. Despite how luxurious that basket might be, they have a similar basket hatching elsewhere in their squad.
Albert Sambi Lokonga is the subject of criticism at Arsenal, and rightly so in my opinion. He has never hit full throttle in an Arsenal shirt as his performances and consistently inconsistent. However, despite my thoughts on Lokonga’s time so far, it was the right call to loan him out. The midfielder clearly has hidden potential, it’s the reason we signed him after all.
If Albert Sambi Lokonga can pull through and become the player Arsenal wished him to be when signing, then it makes no sense to spend £90m on Moises Caicedo. Let’s not forget, this is the reason why they didn’t sign him, because Brighton were asking for a ridiculous price tag of £90m which the club simply didn’t want to be bullied into paying.
Since then, Arsenal have signed Jorginho. However, it’s mutually agreed from all parties that he was only a short-term signing. Playing his debut against Everton last weekend, it wasn’t the result he hoped for, losing 1-0. He was the subject of criticism in this match, with many questioning Arteta’s decision to bring him on.
Do you think Arsenal should sign Moises Caicedo in the summer transfer window?
