Spurs player ratings – Emerson Royal 7.5/10

Played well, and definitely proved me wrong. Heading into the match, I predicted Emerson to be benched following inconsistent form, but he seems to have picked it up. Some fine defensive work from the wing-back.

Spurs player ratings – Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg 8/10

Lovely piece of midfield work to pounce on a weak City pass. He got the assist for for Kane’s opener and went to ground shortly after, but it was nothing to worry about in the end. An overall great midfield display from Hojbjerg, not just for his assist contribution.

Spurs player ratings – Rodrigo Bentancur 8/10

Played excellently as a box-to-box midfielder. In my opinion, he was the unsung hero in the middle of the park for Spurs. Consistently you would find him dribbling with intent into City’s half, which got the crowd going and inspired his team.

Spurs player ratings – Ivan Perisic 7/10

Some great defensive play, some great attacking play. That’s what you get from Perisic at wing-back, which is certainly his strongest position.

Picked up a yellow card towards the last 15 minutes of the match for bringing down Bernardo Silva. Eventually, he was the first to be subbed off in the 79th minute.
