Arsenal predicted lineup – Defenders

Next up is the defence. I expect Mikel Arteta to field his usual four at the back.

At right-back will be Ben White. We know it’s not his usual position, but it might as well be. Having played there all season, he has been an asset to Mikel Arteta. Performing as one of the best defenders in the league in his unnatural position, he will hope to impress once more against Everton.

The centre-back pairing of choice will be the usual two culprits. Gabriel Magalhaes will act as the destroyer of the two, putting his body on the line to win back balls. William Saliba will partner Gabriel by acting as the sweeper, sweeping up any loose balls and remaining composed as he breaks the line between defence and midield.

At left-back, who better than Oleksandr Zinchenko? In my opinion, he is the signing of the season so far. Not only his work on the ball, but his work off the ball and off the pitch too. He is a serial winner and a large part of the reason why Arsenal are playing like winners this season. The Ukraine internationals fights for every loose ball and if one of his teammates don’t replicate this, they know about it.

So, a full strength defence for Mikel Arteta. No significant injury news for him to worry about in this department.
