A full home debut for Arsenal could be looming for either Leandro Trossard or Jorginho.

Arsenal continue their Premier League title race on Saturday against Everton. They will play at home and following a busy transfer window, could see a full home debut for either Leandro Trossard or Jorginho.

Both players were signed to improve depth in their respective positions but the truth is – if Arteta sees fit, Trossard and Jorginho could even make the first team.

Gabriel Martinelli has been relatively quiet in recent matches, so this could be a sign of fatigue. However, the left-winger was rested by Mikel Arteta in the recent FA Cup match against Manchester City. This would suggest that Martinelli is the favourite to start against Everton.

Trossard should not be solely used as a cup player or rotation player, though. I get that Martinelli has had a great season so far but if he is out of form, and Trossard has been playing well, I think he should start against Everton. Time will tell if Arteta follows the same thought process.

For Jorginho, I expect him to start on the bench. He is a great rotational player and given the injury to Mohamed Elneny and the loan move for Albert Sambi Lokonga, he is an asset to the squad at the moment.

Unfortunately for Jorginho, though, he is relying on an injury or suspension to Granit Xhaka or Thomas Partey for him to get into the first team lineup. The midfield pairing of choice under Arteta will remain Partey and Xhaka, since the two of them have worked exceptionally well together in the middle of the park.

Everton are struggling this season so on paper Arsenal are favourites to win. This does not mean the Merseyside club are pushovers, though. Mikel Arteta’s lineup choice will prove to be pivotal to getting the three points. Keep an eye out for our full predicted lineup.
