Arsenal transfer news: £100m midfielder prefers Arsenal over Chelsea
By Kian Long
Arsenal could really get their revenge on Chelsea in the summer.
In today’s section of Arsenal transfer news – A £100m midfielder would rather join Arsenal over Chelsea and Manchester United, new signing Leandro Trossard confirms Arsenal’s rivals were interested in signing him and a new signing expected to be announced TODAY.
Let’s see what the papers are saying…
Arsenal transfer news – Declan Rice prefers Arsenal over Chelsea and Manchester United
According to a report from the Guardian, Declan Rice is keen to make the move to Arsenal in summer. Talks have materialised as a result of Rice’s comments after the match between Arsenal and West Ham United on boxing day this season, demonstrating his admiration for Mikel Arteta.
The Guardian claims Rice is also a topic of interest at Chelsea and Manchester United, but he would prefer to sign for Arsenal. West Ham United would ideally want £100m, but with his contract running out in 2024, the Hammers may be forced to accept £80m.
Arsenal transfer news – Leandro Trossard was close to joining Spurs
According to the Mirror, new Arsenal signing Leandro Trossard has revealed he was close to signing for Spurs. The tricky winger claims his agent was in talks with Tottenham Hotspur, but Arsenal were more proactive in getting the deal over the line.
Trossard came off the bench in Arsenal’s silencing of Manchester United last night. He only played a short cameo but was a key part of Nketiah’s last-minute winning goal. Not a bad cameo, for sure!
Arsenal transfer news – Expect Jakub Kiwior to be announced today
Yep, it’s that time again, Arsenal fans. It’s time to refresh Arsenal’s Twitter feed constantly.
According to Evening Standard, Jakub Kiwior is expected to be announced over the next 24 hours. It’s revealed his medical was completed today, and the deal will follow Leandro Trossard’s.
Of course, this was always bound to happen. The Poland international was in the crowd as Arsenal beat Manchester United last night. There is surely a Mudryk reference in there, but I would say Arsenal are too classy to announce a signing at half-time.
Who would you like to see Arsenal sign next?
