Manchester United submit an underwhelming offer for Joao Felix

Manchester United will need to do better if they wish to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.
When news broke of Atletico Madrid’s asking price for Joao Felix on a half-season loan, that’s when Premier League clubs started to lose interest. However, Manchester United are still very much in the race and they seek to take advantage of other clubs giving up.
According to a report from Relevo, Manchester United have offered an initial bid £3.5m to secure Joao Felix until the end of the season. However, Atletico Madrid have asked for around £11m for a short loan.
If you ask me, the offering price from Manchester United is above generous. However, Diego Simeone and his representatives are bound to find it underwhelming. Despite the Portugal forward falling out of favour in the starting XI, he is still on high wages and Simeone wants as much financial backing as possible to secure him until the end of the season.
Originally, Manchester United were joined by Arsenal and Chelsea who all wanted to sign Joao Felix. But when you put this into perspective, £11m could sign you some great players on a three or four year deal, or at least this would contribute to the price of these players.
United are in the market for a player to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who bitterly left the club after calling out the difference in treatment from when he was first at club under Sir Alex Ferguson. It goes without saying that his countryman Felix would be the ideal replacement, if only there was a way to either get him on loan without the hefty fee, or pay a higher price for a long-term deal.
Manchester United are 4th in the Premier League but they are level on points with a game-in-hand on third place Newcastle United. They have aspirations of returning to Champions League football next season, something which will certainly attract Felix.
Where do you think Joao Felix will be playing this year?
