Not only Josko Gvardiol is the talk of the town, Josip Juranovic too. Josip Juranovic is sought after by multiple Premier League clubs now.

According to the transfer journalist Simon Phillips, Chelsea have renewed their interest in the Croatian defender. The Blues had shown interest in summer to secure the services of a Celtic player in the summer but could not take the deal over the line. Amidst the ongoing interest from West Ham United and Newcastle United, the Stamford Bridge outfit has joined the race to sign Josip Juranovic.

Croatia finished third in the quadrennial event held in Qatar. The defense held the fort throughout the campaign. Josip Juranovic, Josip Stanisic, Ivan Perisic and Josko Gvardiol along with Dominik Livakovic took the team over the line by securing the fort for Croatia.

The former Legia Warszawa defender enjoyed a great campaign in Croatia. The fullback started six out of six games in the quadrennial event. Not only he had a great disciplinary record but also had an assist to his name. The 26-year-old right-back averaged a pass completion rate of 78.5 along with 1.79 tackles per 90.

Should Chelsea sign Josip Juranovic?

The excellent shift by Josip Juranovic in the World Cup has caught the attention of Todd Boehly. The player moved to Celtic a season ago in a deal worth €3 million and has a contract till 2026. This would make signing the player tough for the Stamford Bridge outfit should Celtic decide not to bank on the player’s performances in Qatar.

However, Chelsea lack players at the right back/right wing-back position. They have only Reece James and Cesar Azpilicueta in their ranks and an injury to Reece James has put the club in a tight spot. The Croatian right-back is also worth the gamble for Chelsea, as he is financially viable. Though there are discrepancies with the transfer price of the player, ranging from €6.5 million – €17 million, Chelsea should try securing the services of Josip Juranovic.
