Arsenal have not forgotten about Bukayo Saka’s contract situation.

While it is not a situation of emergency, it does feel like one – Bukayo Saka’s contract runs out at the end of next season. He is by far and away Arsenal’s best player and having had a good World Cup run with England, he will return to the Arsenal camp full of confidence.

Before the World Cup break, he was used extensively by Mikel Arteta. The 21-year-old was the first name on the team sheet each week in the Premier League and rightly so, as he barely put a foot wrong. It was a slow start to the season by his standards, but he soon perked up and is back to his usual self, scoring and assisting goals.

Arsenal are top of the Premier League with five points to spare over league rivals Manchester City. While they are not getting ahead of themselves, I think they have what it takes to win the league this season. They just need to ensure minimal distractions.

To help avoid such distractions, the Arsenal board are working hard behind the scenes. According to a report from Caught Offside, Bukayo Saka’s contract situation will be addressed in the coming weeks and months, when hopefully he will be tied down to the Emirates Stadium for many seasons more.

As far as we are aware, Bukayo Saka is happy at Arsenal. Those who have watched the Amazon Prime documentary will know that behind the scenes, he is treated extremely well and Mikel Arteta has a real soft spot – as do his entire nation.

A speedy and tricky winger, he is known for playing with a positive attitude and taking on opposing defenders. It is difficult to believe he is only 21 years old as for the last number of seasons, he has been the best Arsenal player. No deal they complete in January would compare to securing this young lad’s future – get it done.
