Southampton FC – Striker Targets

Southampton FC currently sits 19th in the Premier League table with the fifth-lowest amount of goals scored in the league. The south coast club has seen just 3 players score more than a goal this season, with left-back Romain Perruad being one of those players.

There will be some legitimate questions asked about improving the defence as well but Southampton FC is in dire need of a solution up front.

Scotland international Che Adams currently leads the team in EPL goals with 4 in 14 matches whilst Adam Armstrong who joined two summers ago from Blackburn Rovers for £15M sits with just a single goal on the season.

Southampton FC was heavily linked to both Cody Gakpo and Goncalo Ramos this summer as players who could help the club find goals but after both making impressive cameos at the World Cup they will now be impossible to sign come January as many top clubs fight for their signature.

Who could Southampton FC realistically sign in January? Keep in mind, based on their pursuit of Gakpo and Ramos last year, Sport Republic seemingly is willing to break the bank and potentially the Southampton transfer fee record. (£20m on Danny Ings).
