Arsenal have not been put off signing their 3 main targets, regardless of Gabriel Jesus injury news.

The Top Flight reported that there are alternatives for Arsenal to consider, given that Gabriel Jesus will now be out of action. However, ultimately the decision is down to Mikel Arteta. Having spent the World Cup break pondering what his moves in the January transfer window should be, I’m sure he is firm on his decision – as he often is.

According to a new report from Goal suggests that Arsenal will remain firm on who they want to buy this January and they will avoid panic buying given the recent Gabriel Jesus injury. The report suggests that initial targets remain the same, with the main three being Mykhailo Mudryk, Youri Tielemans and Danilo.

This, in my opinion, should be taken as great news by the Arsenal faithful. If there is one thing Arsenal are known for, it is not making enough signings. Alternatively, if they are not known for this, they are known for panic buying and making the wrong signings.

Therefore, it shows great improvement under Mikel Arteta and it is not just judging from this situation alone. When Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left the club, Arteta did not panic buy, he simply saw out the season and assessed which holes were missing before signing Jesus, and we can see now in hindsight how beneficial this strategy has been.

There is always the worry around Arsenal that when the trimmings come down, so too do the Gunners. They do have a healthy lead at the top of the table and getting back to winning ways against West Ham on boxing day is pivotal.

It is important to remember that the answer is not always external – Eddie Nketiah has proven time and time again that he is good enough to start and the Gunners also have Folarin Balogun out on loan, with the option to recall him. Time will tell, but for now it seems like Arteta has his mind made up.

Do you think Arsenal will sign any player to replace Gabriel Jesus in the starting XI?
