Everton will seek to offload these two players when the January transfer window arrives.

Everton went into the World Cup break in 17th position of the Premier League table. It is not a good place for them to be as Frank Lampard is severely underachieving at the moment as manager.

Lampard, who has never been known to be at the top of the game in terms of coaching, will need a serious turnaround in the second half of the season. To achieve this, he will need some help by the board in the upcoming January transfer window.

According to a report from GiveMeSport, Lampard is willing to allow the Everton duo Yerry Mina and Abdoulaye Doucoure to leave in January. This is on the off-chance that a club is willing to spend money on either player, considering they will be available for free in the summer courtesy of their contract running low.

Both players have missed a large chunk of this season through injury so it is no surprise to see Lampard growing frustrated with them. Furthermore, it is the perfect opportunity for Lampard to generate a little more spending power for the January transfer window.

It will also free up some much-needed wages, with the duo earning a combined £240k a week – Even allowing for inflation, this is way too much to be paying two players that don’t even play, and will leave in the summer anyway.

Long story short, this is positive news for Everton fans because it shows a bit of backbone – something the club has been missing for the last couple of seasons. While Lampard’s tactics and managerial experience remains in question, his mentality and personality has shone through here, as he is not looking to hold onto sentimentality at the expense of progression.
