Brighton have an impressive 8 players representing their countries at the FIFA World Cup 2022.
From not-always-sunny English beaches to always-blazing-hot Qatar beaches – Brighton have eight of their players playing in this year’s FIFA World Cup. They have been impressive in the Premier League, so each of them deserve their call-up.
Here are the eight Brighton players going to the World Cup…
Pervis Estupinan, Moises Caicedo and Jeremy Sarmiento (Ecuador)
Brighton have what FPL players would call a ‘threemium’ playing for Ecuador. As the nation kicks off this campaign against the home country Qatar this evening, the eyes of the globe will be on these three Brighton players. They have what it takes to mount a challenge.
Leandro Trossard (Belgium)
Trossard would usually have a hard time getting into the impressive Belgium setup. However, he is one of the more versatile players in their ranks, so he will certainly get game time. Trossard has been one of Brighton’s better players this season, scoring seven league goals and providing two assists.
Kaoru Mitoma (Japan)
More of a bench player for Brighton, this is how the Japanese midfielder will be used in the World Cup. Although, he has put in some impressive cameos from the bench so he is still one to watch out for.
Robert Sanchez (Spain)
The Spanish shot-stopper certainly deserved the call-up. However, given the quality that Spain host between the sticks, he won’t get game time.
Alexis Mac Allister (Argentina)
Having featured in most of Brighton’s games this season and some international friendlies, Mac Allister has had a good story. Therefore he deserves this call-up.
Tariq Lamptey (Ghana)
An excellent opportunity for the 22-year-old to represent his country. He is accustomed to playing from the bench, but if his form can impress for Ghana, he will get more consistent game time in this competition.
