5. Jadon Sancho

For England fans, this should be concerning. Sancho, after leaving City and thriving at Dortmund arrived back in the red half of Manchester ready to prove a point. Since his arrival last season in 2021, he has proved absolutely nothing. Between injuries and the difficulty fitting into this United side and system for the majority of his time at the club, one could say things haven’t gone to plan for the former Dortmund star.

Leaving last year out of this debate, he currently has two goals in the Premier League, but what is more worrying are his overall performances and lack of impact on games. He was brought off at halftime against Omonia Nicosia recently in the Europa League with United trailing 1-0 as he couldn’t get anything going. Internationally, Sancho is struggling to find his way back into Gareth Southgate’s side, in fact, he hasn’t been selected in the England squad since an appearance against Andorra a year ago.

Sancho is fighting an uphill battle both for club and for country. with the World Cup just two weeks away, it would be no surprise to see Sancho left out of the festivities for England this year in Qatar.
