2. Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle United)

It is no coincidence that Newcastle United find themselves in the top four. Yes, they have plenty of financial backing but this shouldn’t take away from the work of the players on the pitch.

One player who has exceeded expectations since he joined midway through the season last year is Bruno Guimaraes. The Brazilian midfielder has been a sure starter whenever he’s been fit and under Eddie Howe, is truly blossoming into a great player.

Again, he is very physical in his approach. When replacing a player of N’Golo Kante’s qualities, the last thing you would want is for someone to come in and be incapable of fulfilling his defensive duties. If there is anyone to uphold a Chelsea defence, it’s Bruno.

If Chelsea are to sign the Brazil international, they need to be quick. There are talks ongoing about improving his wage packet, which is tempting to any player.

With Eddie Howe’s Newcastle, he will be part of a project. However, under Graham Potter’s Chelsea, he will be given more freedom to flourish in his position tactically. I mean this as no disrespect to Newcastle but it is difficult to say no when a club the size of Chelsea come knocking.
