Newcastle will use financial backing to fight off Chelsea and Real Madrid

Newcastle United are turning into a financial powerhouse. Never did I think we would see the day they’re beating the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid in the transfer market.
Newcastle United are having a terrific season. At the time of writing this post, they are in third place of the Premier League. Miguel Almiron is in the best form of his life, Kieran Trippier is a rock at the back and the sun is shining all over the Toon. Okay, that last one was a pipe dream but we can’t have it all.
They are receiving critics for the financial backing they are receiving. Haters will claim they are Man City 2.0 but realists will see City at the top of the table and ask why any team wouldn’t want to be there. Long story short, this is modern football and Newcastle have a rich history, it’s about time they started getting some success again.
But the progress is not stopping there. Eddie Howe wants to turn this club into a powerhouse and to do that, he needs to play his cards right in the transfer window. This is something the club has always aimed to do, but only recently have they eliminated the financial barrier.
According to Evening Standard, Newcastle United are set to offer Bruno Guimaraes a contract extension worth £200,000 per week. This would be too much to compete with as far as Chelsea and Real Madrid are concerned.
The report also suggests that Chelsea’s new co-owners are close friends with Newcastle’s new owners. Therefore, they do not wish to step on anyone’s toes with regard to Bruno Guimaraes.
The Brazilian international midfielder has been a revelation since he made the move from Lyon last summer so you can understand why Eddie Howe and co are desperate to keep him under their ranks.
When building a great team, keeping great players is more important than signing great players. With that in mind, this contract extension is a great way for Newcastle to spend their resources.
Do you think Bruno Guimaraes will stay at Newcastle amid interest from these super clubs?
