Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot is the talk of the town after an impressive performance for his national side, Portugal, against the Czech Republic in the UEFA Nations League.

The 23-year-old has been a highly-debated subject when it comes to his position in the club. While many fans have signaled their intention to see him depart, Dalot may have resurrected his career at Manchester United.

After his performance against the Czech Republic, the Portuguese international’s strengths and weaknesses are in the limelight. While many have highlighted his visible flaws in defense, in a system that plays to his strengths, Diogo is unstoppable.

How Did Diogo Dalot Fare Against the Czech Republic in the Nations League?

Dalot started the match in quite a convincing fashion and ended it the same. He scored two goals against the European side and also racked up impressive stats. The United fullback has been forcing his way into the club’s starting 11, and his game time is reflected in improved international performances.

He had a total passing accuracy of 94.2%. His passing range was also immaculate as he completed 52 passes, which included two long balls. The young star has shown that when it comes to getting the ball into the box, he can be dangerous. This was on show once again as he had four crosses into the box.

Erik ten Hag’s playing style seems to have brushed off on the 23-year-old as his movement on and off the ball has been telling. However, Dalot may have more work to do defensively, as he only completed one tackle and one interception.

Performances such as these, both for his country and his club, are reasons why he could be United’s new prized possession.
