Erling Haaland Proving Hard to Mark
Norwegian talisman Erling Haaland has been a menace to defenses to date. Having come from Borussia Dortmund over the summer, City’s new number 9 has already found the net 12 times in eight competitive appearances across all competitions. That includes 10 goals in the six Premier League outings.
With back-to-back hattricks against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, Haaland has scored in all but one Premier League match at the time of writing. In that aforementioned fixture, he got his only assist.
So far, Mohamed Salah (32 goals) has the record for the most goals in a Premier League season since the league went down to 20 teams in 1994-95. Andy Cole and Alan Shearer (both 34) have the most goals scored in a single season in the Premier League era.
Harry Kane’s 29 goals in 30 games back in the 2016-17 campaign is the best goal-per-game ratio in the PL era. With the lightning start to life in the Prem, can Haaland break either or both of those records in his debute season?
