It has just been six weeks into the new Premier League season. After spending £1.9 billion in the summer, fans expected a thrilling and exciting title race. However, the dynamics of the league have taken a sharp turn. Rather than a title race, we are about to experience a managerial sack race in the next few gameweeks.

Out of 20 Premier League clubs, two clubs have already parted ways with their manager. Bournemouth got rid of Scott Parker after the 9-0 defeat against Liverpool whereas Chelsea decided to sack Thomas Tuchel after their first Champions League game which was also a defeat.

The firing of Parker and Tuchel has turned fans’ attention towards other managers. There are few bosses in the league whose teams have not delivered on their potential to date. The list consists of Frank Lampard (Everton), Steve Gerrard (Aston Villa), and Brendan Rodgers (Leicester City).

Premier League Managerial Sack Race: Who is Next?

#1) Brendan Rodgers
Club: Leicester City
League Position: 20th

The Leicester City gaffer is on the hot seat after a poor start to the Premier League campaign. After six gameweeks, the former Liverpool manager has only one point to his name. Foxes have lost five games and conceded 16 goals already.

One reason behind the poor performance is the lack of transfers in the summer window. They have sent Hamza Choudhury and George Hirst on loan and have sold Wesley Fofana and Kasper Schmeichel.

They have replaced Wesley Fofana with Wout Faes from Stade Reims and Kasper Schmeichel with Alex Smithies. The lack of options in the midfield after the temporary departure of Hamza Choudhury has also created an imbalance for Rodgers.

Foxes will face Tottenham Hotspur, Nottingham Forest, AFC Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, and Leeds United in the next five Premier League fixtures. The side has to kick start their campaign soon if Brendan Rodgers looks to keep the job.
