James Garner will leave Manchester United and will join Everton permanently after the two Premier League outfits agreed to a deal worth £15m. It is further believed that his medical with the Toffees is complete and he will soon be announced as a Toffee.

Frank Lampard’s pulling power prevails in the hunt for one of Man United’s hottest prospects. The player was wanted by a host of clubs in England’s top flight, as well as in the Championship. However, in stepped Everton with a late bid and convinced the player to ply his trade at Goodison Park.

Tottenham and Nottingham Forest were the first clubs initially linked with the midfielder, who has been at the latter on loan for the past two seasons in the Championship, but the player hesitated on a move to either club. Following the previously mentioned links, Everton, Leicester City, and Southampton stepped in and made their approaches and it is the former that Garner the services of James.

Manchester United Did Business a Bit Differently

United fans were and are furious that a sale of Garner has been sanctioned. Thankfully, the Red Devils have inserted a buy-back option into the James Garner deal with the Eves. The player will join the Toffees on a five-year contract, keeping him at the club until 2027.

Nonetheless, they are still not happy about the club selling one of their young players.

This does at least show some good intentions by letting him go and develop at the highest level. If he does live up to the hype at Old Trafford and wherever he has gone to play in the past, he can return to Man United on their terms.

He will join James Tarkowski, Ruben Vinagre, Dwight McNeil, Conor Coady, Amadou Onana, Neal Maupay and still to be confirmed by the club: Idrissa Gana Gueye, who is also said to have had his medical with the Merseyside outfit today.

Everton have been one of the busier sides just before deadline day and for good reason. They are lucky other teams in the league are doing just a bit worse than them in these early stages, so quite lucky to not sit in one of the bottom spots.

"More on James Garner deal. Medical already completed, terms now fully agreed with the player and £15m fee confirmed — with buy back clause for United.  James will sign as new Everton player in the next minutes — five year deal valid until June 2027. Here we go.(via: @FabrizioRomano)"

Has Everton done enough in the market?

Has Lampard and his transfer team done enough to make sure they can turn a poor start around and endure what’s coming in the first half of the season? They have certainly added depth but is it enough?

They have signed Neal Maupay from Brighton to stand in for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is out injured. But is he enough firepower to aid the young Anthony Gordon, whose move to Chelsea fell through due to the asking price?
